Allen Keller, MD, an international expert in the evaluation and treatment of torture victims, is available to speak on the controversy surrounding the treatment of suspected terrorists. Dr. Keller sits on the International Advisory Board of Physicians for Human Rights (PHR) and has written and spoken about a number of issues relating to torture including the humane treatment of prisoners, documenting the health impact of torture, and caring for torture victims. He strongly advocates against the worldwide use of torture. Recently he has been addressing in talks and other forums the question of whether torture is ever justified.

Dr. Keller is an Assistant Professor at NYU School of Medicine, Founder and Director of the Bellevue/NYU Program for Survivors of Torture, and Director of the NYU School of Medicine Center for Health and Human Rights. The Survivors of Torture Program provides omprehensive, multidisciplinary care to torture survivors and their families. Since the program began in 1995, over 700 survivors of torture and other human rights abuses from more than 60 countries have received care.

"Torture is not the answer and will never serve the interests of justice. It doesn't work, it just undermines our worth and humanity," says Dr. Keller.
