WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Margaret Urquhart, chief operations officer and executive vice president of Krispy Kreme Doughnut Corp., will deliver the address at the Babcock Graduate School of Management's annual hooding ceremony at 7 p.m., Sunday, May 14, in Wait Chapel on the Wake Forest University campus.

The Babcock School will honor 287 graduating students from the Winston-Salem full-time, evening and executive MBA programs, JD/MBA and MD/MBA programs, and the Charlotte MBA program. The graduating class is the largest in the school's history.

Urquhart joined Krispy Kreme in December 1999 after serving as president of the Lowes Foods supermarket chain for four years. Before joining Lowes Foods, Urquhart was president of Spurwink Consulting Group in Wilmington, N.C., and she spent 17 years with the Hannaford Bros. supermarket chain and served as president of its Wellby Super Drug Stores subsidiary.
Urquhart, a resident of Winston-Salem, serves on the boards of the city's Downtown Development Corp. and the Forsyth Technical Community College Foundation. She serves on the board of trustees for Salem College, and on the college and advisory boards for Wachovia Bank and Winston-Salem State University. She holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from Southern Connecticut State University, which has honored her with its Distinguished Alumnae Award.
