Parsons School of Design announces a call for proposals to exhibit in their two New York City galleries, located at 66 Fifth Avenue and 2 West 13th Street in Greenwich Village. Parsons Exhibitions provides exhibition space, promotion and publicity, to display, study, and interpret how design impacts daily life--whether that impact is historical, social, cultural, environmental, or technological. Interested in representing all facets of design, Parsons has put the call out for artists, designers, educators, and curators to develop exhibitions that address the changing design field. The galleries showcase both professional and student work, supporting the evolution of design from educational to professional practice. Exhibitions are up for up to 4-6 weeks.

Parsons School of Design has many areas of interest for exhibitions, including (but not limited to): Architecture, Interior Design, and Lighting Design, Communication Design, Design & Technology, Fashion Design, Fine Arts, Illustration, Photography, and Product Design.

To apply, applicants should provide an overview of a project proposal in a 500-word abstract, with accompanying curriculum vitae and proposed budget. Exhibition proposals may be taken from former exhibitions, books or dissertations, or be developed uniquely for Parsons.

The School specializes in the following departments and has the following deadlines for submissions:* Architecture, Interior Design, Product Design, and Decorative Arts proposals -- September 30, 2003* Fashion Design proposals -- October 30, 2003* Communication Design, Design & Technology -- November 30, 2003* Fine Arts, Photography, Illustration -- December 30, 2003
