PRESIDENT OF NASDAQ TO GIVE COMMENCEMENT SPEECH AT THE ANDERSON SCHOOL

The Anderson School announced today that NASDAQ president Alfred Berkeley has been chosen as this year's speaker for commencement on Friday, June 16.

"We are extremely honored to have such a prominent speaker join us for the 2000 commencement," said Bruce Willison, dean of The Anderson School. "Mr. Berkeley is an indisputable leader in the technological revolution and continues to play a vital role in the progression of electronic commerce. As our students and faculty grapple with the immense change wrought by the Internet, I am delighted they will hear from such a respected visionary and leader."

Berkeley was appointed President of the NASDAQ Stock Market in 1996. He is often described by colleagues as one of the greatest leaders in electronic commerce for his dynamic vision and superb understanding of technology in today's market.

Berkeley served as a captain in the United States Air Force from 1968 until 1971 when he began his career at Alex, Brown & Sons as a research analyst. He was eventually named Managing Director and Senior Banker, where his primary expertise involved large computer software and electronic commerce companies. While working for the corporation, Berkeley was one of the first analysts to recognize the importance of the emerging software industry. His research won him a coveted Institutional Investor All-American award.

The former banker received his M.B.A from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and his B.A. from the University of Virginia. He now resides in Baltimore, Maryland, with his wife and three children.

The 2000 Anderson School Commencement Ceremony will be held on Friday, June 16 at 6 p.m. in the Janss Plaza. A reception will immediately follow the ceremony at 8:15 p.m., in the Alumni Plaza at The Anderson School.
