HANOVER, NH -- The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth is pleased to announce that Robert E. Rubin will address the members of the centennial class of 2000 at their investiture ceremony on Saturday, June 10. Mr. Rubin, former Secretary of the Treasury, chairman of the executive committee and member of the office of the chairman of Citigroup Inc., will also be awarded an honorary Doctor of Laws degree by Dartmouth President James Wright.

A recent article in The New York Times pointed to Mr. Rubin as one of the century's leaders and said that "he led America and the world through the financial uncertainties of recent years and became the most effective Treasury Secretary of the past 100 years."

After a highly successful career at Goldman, Sachs & Co., he left in 1992 to head the National Economic Council. Named Secretary of the Treasury in 1995, Mr. Rubin was an advocate for a strong U.S. dollar and is credited with initiating many of the current administration's economic successes.

In October 1999 after leaving his Treasury post, he was elected to the board of directors of Citigroup Inc., where he works on strategic, managerial, and operational issues. He also serves as chairman of the board of the Local Initiatives Support Corporation, the nation's leading community development support organization.

Mr. Rubin graduated summa cum laude from Harvard College, did postgraduate work at the London School of Economics, and received his law degree from Yale Law School.

Says Dean Paul Danos, "We are honored to have a person with such a distinguished career in business and government address us on this important occasion. Bob Rubin epitomizes the best in leadership and service to his country."

Founded in 1900, the Tuck School of Business is the first graduate school of business in the country and consistently ranks among the top business schools worldwide. Information about the Tuck School is available at http://www.tuck.dartmouth.edu.
