Newswise — WINONA, Minn. – Winona State University will hold the fifth Annual Celebration of Research and Creative Scholarship Symposium from 2-6 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, in East Hall, Kryzsko Commons.

There will be 151 presentations featuring posters, talks and performances by students representing the arts; education; humanities; and health, natural, physical and social sciences. This marks the greatest number of presentations in the short history of the event, more than double the number of topics presented in 2010.

The event coincides with National Undergraduate Research Week, as proclaimed by Congress in November 2010.

The event is free and open to the public.

The purpose of this symposium is to recognize the efforts of students and their faculty advisors that use scholarly and creative inquiry as an integral part of the educational experience at WSU. The diversity of presentations demonstrates the value placed on research and creative inquiry by the entire WSU community.

WSU is an institutional member of the Council of Undergraduate Research (CUR).
