AHCPR CONVENES 4th NATIONAL CAHPS USER GROUP MEETING
The Agency for Health Care Policy and Research (AHCPR) is presenting the Fourth National User Group Meeting for users of CAHPS (Consumer Assessment of Health Plans Study) October 14-16, 1998, at the Omni Inner Harbor Hotel, Baltimore, Md.
CAHPS allows health care purchasers to collect survey information from their own employees and beneficiaries and report it back to them to enable them to make more informed health plan choices. This will be a working meeting of businesses, Medicaid programs and purchasing coalitions currently using CAHPS, as well as a chance for potential users to find out more about it. It also will provide reporters with real and practical information about the importance of this survey tool and who is using it.
The first day of the meeting will provide an overview of the basics behind CAHPS. Thursday and Friday will include updates on the status of the demonstration sites, the convergence of CAHPS with NCQA's Member Satisfaction Survey, and information about new CAHPS products. Other sessions will allow users to interact with each other about their progress, problems and reactions to using CAHPS.
