AAMC RELEASES ADVOCACY/LEGISLATIVE AGENDA FOR 2000

WHAT: The Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) will present the organization's advocacy and legislative agenda for the coming year. Leading priorities include: an aggressive legislative agenda around strengthening the clinical research enterprise; heightened attention paid to reducing medical errors and enhancing patient safety; and, continued focus on the financial instability of U.S. teaching hospitals. AAMC President Jordan J. Cohen, M.D., will be joined by Duke University's Ralph Snyderman, M.D., chair of the AAMC Task Force on Clinical Research, who will provide an institutional perspective on the major issues facing academic medicine in 2000.
