Newswise — The American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM) and OEM Health Information, Inc. (OEM Press), announced today that, effective immediately, the College will become the sole publisher of its Occupational Medicine Practice Guidelines: Evaluation and Management of Common Health Problems and Functional Recovery in Workers, 2nd Edition.

"The College appreciates the productive relationship that we have had with our Guidelines publishing partner, OEM Press, for these many years," said ACOEM President Tee Guidotti, MD, MPH, FACOEM. "The College has now taken full control of the Guidelines as part of a larger plan to develop a series of evidence-based tools for excellence in health care, some of which will appear in nontraditional and innovative formats other than book form. Our new arrangement will allow us to be fully responsive to the needs of our members and to the growing number of institutions that utilize the ACOEM practice guidelines to help guide necessary and effective patient care."

OEM Press and ACOEM, on a friendly basis, came to terms enabling ACOEM to take publication of the Guidelines in-house. OEM Press will continue to offer other ACOEM titles including A Manager's Guide to Occupational Health Services.

ACOEM, an international society of more than 5,000 occupational physicians and other health care professionals, provides leadership to promote optimal health and safety of workers, workplaces, and environments. The College is headquartered in the Elk Grove Village, a suburb of Chicago.
