Newswise — The American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) has announced the hiring of three new director-level positions at its Park Ridge, Illinois, Executive Office. Thomas P. Conway, MBA, CPA, has been appointed Chief Financial Officer, Robert C. Fine, JD, CAE, appointed as Director of Subspecialty Societies and Celeste G. Kirschner, appointed Director of Membership.

Conway served in several positions at the American Academy of Dermatology from 1996 to 2004 including Associate Executive Director, Finance and Planning, Interim Executive Director and Executive Director. He also has served as Executive Director of the Catholic Press Association and as Vice-President of Business Operations for Moose International from 2004 to 2006. He is a member of the American Society of Association Executives, Association Forum of Chicagoland and the Illinois Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Fine comes to ASA from the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons where he served in several positions from 1989 to 2008 including Director, Health Policy and Government Initiatives, Director, Socioeconomic & State Society Affairs and Director, Health Policy. Fine received his Juris Doctorate from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1984 and is a member of the Association Forum of Chicagoland and the American Society of Association Executives.

Kirschner worked for the American Medical Association for 19 years as both a department and division director. Most recently she served as Executive Director for the Illinois Physical Therapy Association. She is also the founding President of Celeste G. Kirschner & Associates and served as a Manager/Director at PriceWaterhouseCoopers/V4 Consulting from 2001-2003. A Certified Association Executive, Kirschner received a Masters in Health Services Administration from the University of St. Francis, Joliet, Ill. She is a member of the American Society of Association Executives, Association Forum of Chicagoland and is a Fellow of The Institute of Medicine of Chicago.
