AMGA Provides Comments on ONC’s Request for Information on Interoperability
Newswise — Alexandria, VA – AMGA submitted comments June 3 in response to the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology’s Request for Information (RFI) on assessing interoperability for the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA). AMGA recommended that ONC consider how investments in Health Information Technology (HIT) interoperability can correlate with patient outcomes. Incorporating how HIT effects quality and patient outcomes is a truer measure of meaningful use.

Our members know that simply in itself an interoperable health information technology system is not going to drive value in healthcare. Instead, value and quality must be essential components of achieving interoperability.”
