Newswise — The American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology is pleased to announce that Beth Bukata has been promoted to Assistant Director of Communications and Sara Mansoor has been elevated to Meetings Manager.

Ms. Bukata joined ASTRO as Communications Manager in 2003. A graduate of Seton Hall University in New Jersey with a degree in Communications, she has nearly 10 years experience in healthcare public relations. In her new role as Assistant Director of Communications, she will spearhead the Society's media relations efforts, manage advertising opportunities and support ASTRO's ongoing Public Awareness Campaign to educate patients and the public on how radiation therapy is a safe and effective treatment for cancer and other diseases.

Ms. Mansoor joined ASTRO in 2000 to support the Society's education and meetings activities. She quickly rose to become a Meetings Coordinator. In her new position as Meetings Manager, she will be responsible for managing ASTRO's smaller educational meetings as well as supporting activities for the Board of Directors. Ms. Mansoor will also continue her vital role in helping put together the ASTRO Annual Meeting, which attracts more than 10,000 healthcare professionals each year.
