Newswise — Hundreds of academics, businesspersons, and government officials attended the initial BabsonCollege/Nankai University entrepreneurship programs in China.

Babson co-sponsored the first China-U.S. Symposium for Entrepreneurship Research and Education with Nankai University and four other institutions in Tianjin on April 10th and 11th. More than 500 persons from 152 colleges and universities throughout China attended the conference.

The research symposium was followed by the Symposium for Entrepreneurship Educators (SEE). The symposium, which attracted 71 participants from 52 schools, was co-sponsored with Nankai University and held at the Business School.

"Enthusiasm, excitement, engagement," is how Vice-Provost For Entrepreneurship and Global Management Stephen Spinelli, Jr. described the events. "This was a tremendous gathering of members of leading business schools, corporations, and government agencies in China, all focused on entrepreneurship."

Babson faculty attending included Spinelli, Prof. Jeffry Timmons, Prof. Robert Eng, and Provost Michael Fetters.
