Newswise — Baldwin-Wallace College (Berea, OH) is introducing its first online degree program. The hybrid MBA in Management will combine the convenience of online study with challenging coursework and intense faculty support.
The new MBA, which will begin in August 2011, is a two-year, cohort-based program that utilizes the same curriculum and faculty as B-W's traditional MBA in Management.
Designed for the busy professionals facing demanding schedules, multiple responsibilities or long commutes, the program enables students to complete three-quarters of the coursework online combined with seven on-site weekend sessions spread over two years (six semesters). It includes 12 courses, an ongoing applied project and real-world application.
"Our new hybrid MBA is another example of how B-W is integrating the traditions of its well-established and successful MBA programs with technology in order to meet the needs of the business community today," said Dale Kramer, director of the MBA/EMBA at Baldwin-Wallace College.
"While the delivery of this program is primarily online, it maintains all the benefits of our traditional seated MBA in Management," he continued.
"Whether a person is an aspiring manager or already established in management at a small business, nonprofit or Fortune 500 company, our MBA helps them to enhance their leadership profile and understand the integrative responsibilities of management.
"We refer to this as our systems approach to management," he added. "It's a distinctive, practical and holistic approach that is well respected by employers and our students for its immediate workplace application."
Students with non-business undergraduate degrees may need to take prerequisite courses in financial accounting and/or quantitative analysis. Those classes are being offered in hybrid format in the summer 2011.
