Larry Bartels has conducted many studies on the political attitudes of wealthy people and the impact of economic conditions on voting behavior. His research is focused on electoral politics, public opinion and the role of citizens in the policy-making process. His books include Democracy for Realists: Why Elections Do Not Produce Responsive Government (with Christopher Achen).
