Newswise — Canada's contribution to "World Year of Physics" via Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics has been a resounding success. From Wireless to the Wright Brothers, Fashion to Philosophy, Jazz to Judaism, EinsteinFest dug deep into a wide spectrum of human activity sparked by the 1905 era and was met with resounding response. Attendance at EinsteinFest grew progressively stronger throughout the 24 day event " culminating in total attendance of just over 28,000. Somewhat remarkable considering Waterloo is a relatively small city, just outside Toronto. The international festival about Albert Einstein and his transformative times attracted people from across Canada, the United States, South America, U.K., Europe, Australia and beyond. They came to enjoy one or more of the 38 lectures, 21 concerts and performances, 19 scientific work stations with hands-on experiments, two-floor exhibit area, 3-D "timeline of innovation" and much more.

Public events will continue and include:

Simon Singh - author, journalist and TV producer speaking about "The Big Bang" . This lecture will take place on Wednesday, November 2nd, at 7:00 p.m. in Waterloo, Ontario Clifford Will, Washington University, speaking to audiences across Canada on the topic "Was Einstein Right?" This coast to coast lecture series continues through November and is presented by Perimeter Institute and the Canadian Association of Physicists. Scientific events continue and, though not open to the public, include a workshop on:

"Cosmological Frontiers in Fundamental Physics" — October 24 to 28, 2005. This event, for scientists only, is presented by Perimeter Institute and Laboratoire AstroParticule et Cosmologie (Paris)
