Newswise — ENGLEWOOD, CO - (May 10, 2013) – This week, the Centura Health Cancer Network was awarded silver accreditation by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer, becoming the first Integrated Network Cancer Program in Colorado. Leveraging the strength of our statewide cancer network is another way that Centura Health, the region’s health care leader, is delivering high-value, coordinated care across Colorado.

In March, the Commission on Cancer conducted a two-day site survey, evaluating both individual hospital performance and how Centura Health performed as a network. The Centura Health Cancer Network programs achieved five commendations in clinical trials accruals, cancer registry education, public reporting of outcomes, quality of nursing care and National Cancer Data Base quality submissions. The surveyors found no deficiencies in the program.

The surveyors cited Centura Health’s interactive cancer conferences, superior physician and staff leadership, and outstanding facilities. They were impressed by Centura Health’s “extraordinary commitment to community.”
