Dermatologists with Psoriasis Expertise Join
National Nonprofit Medical Advisory Board

Portland, OR, September 20, 1999--Seven dermatologists from across the United States were appointed today to the National Psoriasis Foundation's (NPF) Medical Advisory Board.

* J. T. Elder, M.D., Ph.D.--dermatologist and professor at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI

* Steven R. Feldman, M.D., Ph.D.--dermatologist and professor at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, Winston-Salem, SC.

* Alice B. Gottlieb, M.D., Ph.D.--dermatologist, rheumatologist and professor at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ)-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, NJ.

* John Y.M. Koo, M.D.--dermatologist, psychiatrist and professor at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) Medical Center

* Mark G. Lebwohl, M.D.--dermatologist and professor at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York

* Robert S. Stern, M.D.--dermatologist at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Harvard University, Boston, MA

* Gerald D. Weinstein, M.D.--dermatologist and professor at the University of California (UCI) College of Medicine in Irvine, California

The NPF Medical Advisory Board was formed in 1968 to advise the Foundation on matters of technical or scientific nature and provide guidance about the effective application of its resources toward improvement of the medical treatment and control of psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. It is comprised of 14 dermatologists with expertise in psoriasis, each serving a three-year term on the board.

The NPF is a lay, nonprofit health organization with a mission to inform and support the 7 million people with psoriasis, educate the general public about psoriasis, and fund psoriasis research for a cure.
