Newswise — The International Panel on Climate Change will release a major report Friday that represents the consensus of the international scientific community on the state of the world's climate. The following SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF) experts are available to discuss the report:

Peter E. Black ; Dr. Black is a Distinguished Teaching Professor Emeritus in the Faculty of Forest and Natural Resources Management. His area of expertise is watershed hydrology and he can explain how a lack of snow feeds global warming and how it affects the overall health of forests and stream systems. He can also speak in broad terms about weather patterns and what usually happens on Earth before an ice age (it gets warm).

Charles A. Hall ; Dr. Hall is a professor in the ESF Faculty of Environmental and Forest Biology. He is a systems ecologist and expert on economics and energy, and he has done studies in the area of climate change.

Myrna H. Hall ; Myrna Hall is an assistant professor in ESF's Faculty of Environmental Studies and coordinator of ESF's Urban Environmental Science minor. Her research includes integrating simulation modeling and geographic information systems to study the interaction of humans and their environment.

Myron Mitchell ; Dr. Mitchell is Distinguished Professor and director of the Council on Hydrologic Systems Science. He is involved in research that studies how climate affects biogeochemical processes in watersheds with a particular focus on the winter.

Edwin H. White ; Dr. White is director of the SUNY Center for Sustainable and Renewable Energy, a universitywide clearing house for innovations in the area of energy.
