First Pacific donates equipment for new Oregon School for the Deaf technology center
Newswise — First Pacific Corporation (FPC) in Salem, Oregon is grateful for the opportunity to partner with the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition build project that recently took place at the Oregon School for the Deaf in Salem, Oregon. When it was announced that the project was coming to Salem, First Pacific was eager to make a contribution.
FPC donated 6 full computer systems to the project, which were used to create a computer lab in a new dorm built as part of the project. FPC is hoping that with this donation, it can be an example to employees, staff and other industries that it is community involvement and giving back wherever possible that can make the difference in the lives of people who they may never meet. FPC’s donation will provide the technology needed for academic success for several years for the students.
FPC’s Executive Vice President of Internal Operations, Brian Scott, is excited about the foundation that this project will give OSD and how it will impact current and future students at OSD. “We are genuinely proud of our staff that did the work to make sure the students at Oregon School for the Deaf got the technology they needed. We look forward to good things to come for OSD as a result of the Extreme Makeover Project.”
Rich Duncan, lead contractor of the Extreme Makeover Salem is impressed with FPC’s willingness to step up to the plate. “I am so impressed with First Pacific Corporation’s commitment to our community and the fact that they were dedicated to donating the technology needed to assist in the student’s success. FPC had no idea who the recipient was when they made the commitment. To me that is remarkable.”
