Highlights from Asteroid Eros
After less than a week in orbit, images from the NEAR spacecraft show that Eros is no ordinary space rock. Highlights include evidence that Eros may be a fragment of a larger planetary body, a mysterious smooth area amid Eros's heavily cratered surface, stereo pictures and much more.
