Dr. Lasser most recently completed his Fellowship training in Robotic and Laparoscopic Urologic Surgery and Endourology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center in New York, New York. He completed his internship in general surgery and his urology residency at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and Rhode Island Hospital, both in Providence, Rhode Island. Dr. Lasser attended UMDNJ – Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, where he received the prestigious Excellence in Surgery Award and was elected into selective medical honor societies, including Alpha Omega Alpha. As a highly-regarded expert in the field of robotic surgery and urology, Dr. Lasser has presented at numerous national and international meetings.
Robot-assisted laparoscopic surgery entails the use of a surgical robot to facilitate the performance of complex operations without the need for a large incision. By combining robotics and state-of-the-art computer technology, surgeons can operate with greater dexterity and control than is possible with traditional surgical approaches. In addition to a quicker recovery time, other potential benefits of robotic surgery include less blood loss, reduced postoperative pain, and reduced risk for infection.
