From June 5 to 9, 2011, Waterloo Global Science Initiative launches the Equinox Summit: Energy 2030 – an ambitious undertaking to reboot the global conversation on energy and learn how cutting-edge science and technology may advance an electrified and low-carbon future.

The Equinox Summit will bring together leading scientists, future leaders, and experienced advisors to share their insights in a spirit of open collaboration. Their task is to envision a low carbon, electrified future coupled with a growing need to expand the capacity, increase the resilience and security, and improve the efficiency of our energy systems. Recommendations will be shared through the presentation of the Equinox Communiqué at the end of the Summit on June 9th, 2011.

Last call for Media Travel GrantsThe inaugural Equinox Summit is a unique reporting opportunity for journalists to glimpse into the year 2030 and see how we’re strategizing today for a sustainable future. We’re offering a limited number of media travel grants to assist journalists with costs to cover the Summit. Grants include discounted hotel rates, ground transportation, use of on-site newsroom, exclusive invitations to the opening and closing receptions, access to influential Summit participants, and more.
