College of Notre Dame of Maryland is supporting the Love/Avon Army of Women, a nationwide initiative to recruit 1 million volunteers to enroll in research to help uncover the causes of breast cancer. To raise awareness for the campaign, College of Notre Dame is hosting a recruitment rally on Friday, May 13, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. featuring Dr. Susan Love, founder of the Army of Women, president of the Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation and a leader in the breast cancer field for more than 30 years.

Maria Mouratidis, Psy.D., associate professor and chair, Department of Psychology and Sociology, College of Notre Dame of Maryland will lead a community educational forum on identifying and managing of sports concussion. The event is open to those involved in youth sports, including parents, coaches, caregivers and trainers.

College of Notre Dame of Maryland School of Nursing is boldly addressing Maryland’s nursing shortage with the launch of its first entry-level, four-year bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) program. Women who are interested in a nursing career and are high school seniors or graduates can apply now for fall 2011 admission to the Women’s College.
