One-Day Education Event Highlights Latest Approaches to Managing Type 2 Diabetes Newswise — Chevy Chase, MD ––The Hormone Health Network and Taking Control of Your Diabetes (TCOYD) are teaming up to provide a unique, one-day learning experience for people living with type 2 diabetes. This motivational health education event will present the latest approaches to living your best life with diabetes.

The event will feature presentations from Steven Edelman, MD, Endocrinologist the founder of Taking Control of Your Diabetes, new treatment options including insulin, resources for patients from The Endocrine Society, a cooking demonstration with “The Happy Diabetic,” Chef Robert Lewis, as well as a psychologist discussing the emotional challenges associated with diabetes.

The Living Your Best Life Diabetes Conference will be held in conjunction with The Endocrine Society’s annual meeting. ENDO 2013: The 95th Annual Meeting & Expo, taking place in San Francisco June 15-18 is expected to draw more than 8,000 clinicians and scientists from around the world and will focus attention on diabetes and other hormone disorders. The Endocrine Society’s Hormone Health Network provides patients with free educational resources on hormones and health, diseases and treatment.

Taking Control of Your Diabetes, a San Diego based not-for-profit organization has been educating and motivating diabetes communities in cities around the country since 1995. TCOYD's national conferences assemble an all-star cast of diabetes experts for a day that ignites motivation, offers hope and changes the life of anyone with diabetes for the better.
