Newswise — Loyola University Health System (LUHS) nurses may be part of the next YouTube craze thanks to their Pink Glove Dance Video Sequel, which launches today. The video is the second installment in a series of vignettes to raise awareness for breast cancer.
“We had a great time filming the video, and we hope it inspires others to join the fight against this disease,” said Paula Hindle, MSN, MBA, RN, vice president and chief nurse executive, LUHS. “Our participation in the filming was a way that we could show support for our breast cancer patients beyond the hospital walls.”
The first Pink Glove Dance Video received more than 11 million hits on YouTube. Due to its success, film producers decided to comb the U.S. for health-care workers and breast cancer survivors to star in the sequel. Loyola nurses Mary Beth Casper, Lisa Coy, Paula Hindle, Mary Matesi, Mary McCabe, Tammy Moletz and Mary Morrow answered the call.
Donned in pink gloves and blue scrubs, the nurses traveled to Northerly Island in Chicago on Sunday, Aug. 22, to dance for a good cause on camera. They were joined by hundreds of other Chicago area health-care workers and breast cancer survivors.
“We enjoyed representing Loyola and the millions of women who have been impacted by breast cancer,” said Mary Morrow, director of nursing and Magnet program director, LUHS.
