More telescopes have joined the search for Mars Polar Lander after Stanford scientists failed to confirm a radio signal from the missing spacecraft last week.

SPACE SHUTTLE STS-99 UPDATE:

Yesterday's launch of the space shuttle Endeavour was postponed due to unfavorable weather conditions. The next launch opportunity will be Tuesday, February 1, 2000.

This shuttle flight, dubbed the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM), is an international project designed to obtain the most complete high-resolution digital topographic map of the Earth.
