McCLURE TO HEAD AMERICAN SOCIETY OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERSÏ€ INTERNATIONAL GAS TURBINE INSTITUTE

New York, Feb. 27, 1997 -- The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME International) and the board of directors of the International Gas Turbine Institue (IGTI) have named Ann E. McClure, a certified association executive, as managing director of IGTI in Atlanta, Ga., starting in April.

McClure is the current president of the Georgia Society of Association Executives and has extensive experience in association management. She will be responsible for IGTIÏ€s extensive worldwide program of expositions, conferences, technical publishing and continuing education, as well as management of financial resources, operating fund development and a staff of 14.

≥As ASME continues to grow internationally, Ms. McClureπs past experiences as a resident of several countries, including France, England and Brazil will be invaluable,≤ said Dr. David L. Belden, executive director of ASME International. ≥We are pleased to have a high caliber professional who has successfully directed the management of large conferences and expositions, such as those that IGTI sponsors in Europe, Asia and North America.≤

IGTI supports gas turbine technology research, development and practice and annually sponsors ASME TURBO EXPO, one of the largest events in the world dedicated to gas turbine technology.

McClure has held a variety of positions with increasing responsibilities throughout her career in association management in Washington, D.C., and Atlanta. As executive vice president of the Professional Lawn Care Association of America, McClure brought the organization into profitability within her first year. She also successfully directed the management of its profitable 60,000 net square foot national trade show, an active legislative effort, national education and training programs, a certification program and public relations.

McClure holds a B.A. (Honors) from Washington State University and is Phi Beta Kappa. She is a member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Association Committee of 100, and a member of the American Society of Association Executivesπ Diversity Committee. She also serves on the board of directors of Park Pride Atlanta. She and her husband reside in Marietta, Ga.
