NASA satellite captures pictures of aurora from space

Last week an interplanetary wind storm hit our planet with a gale of energetic particles moving with speeds exceeding 500 times that of a racing bullet. During the storm, a strong gust of solar wind triggered geomagnetic activity captured by the ultraviolet imager on NASA's Polar satellite.
