A comprehensive new guide addressing all sections of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessels and Piping Codes is now available from ASME International (American Society of Mechanical Engineers).

The Companion Guide to the ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code: Criteria and Commentary on Select Aspects of the ASME Boiler, Pressure Vessel and Piping Codes, is a 2-volume, 1,400 page guide that enables users to understand the basic rationale of the code as deliberated and disseminated by ASME.

The volumes, written by 36 experts in the code's preparation and use, and edited by K.R. Rao, Ph.D., P.E., and past-chair of the ASME Pressure Vessel & Piping Division's technical committee on codes and standards, address Sections I through XI of the ASME BPVC and Codes B31.1 and B31.3 for pressure piping. The new guide serves as a companion book, or criteria document, to the latest editions to the ASME code.

Providing in-depth treatment of each of the code sections, the guide covers areas including rules for certification and accreditation. It also provides numerous examples, explanatory text, graphics, and references and annotated bibliographical notes which engineers can immediately reference to find acceptable criteria for material requirements.

Published and distributed exclusively by ASME Press (http://www.asme.org/pubs/asmepress), the Companion Guide to the ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code is available as a 2-volume set or may be purchased separately.

Volume 1 covers code sections I, II, III, IV and VI, as well as Code B31.1 and B31.3 for piping. Volume 2 includes sections V, VII, IX, X, XI, as well as special topics related to the code. Each volume contains full introductory material, table of contents, author information and indexes referencing both volumes.

The 2-volume Companion Guide to the ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code sells for $350.00 ($280.00 for ASME members) or sold as separate volumes for $195.00 each ($156.00 for ASME members).
