Foundation Offers Postdoctoral Fellowship in Psoriasis Genetics Research

PORTLAND, OR/October 5, 2000--The National Psoriasis Foundation (NPF) announced today that it is accepting applications for a two-year postdoctoral fellowship to an early-career researcher in the field of psoriasis or psoriatic arthritis genetics.

The NPF award will be $30,000 per year, not to exceed $60,000 for two years. The fellowship must be used in direct support of an early-career researcher working in genetics and will be funded for a period beginning February 1, 2001, and ending January 31, 2003.

Applicants should be working actively in areas related to psoriasis or psoriatic arthritis in a laboratory dedicated and committed to psoriasis or psoriatic arthritis research. The funds may be used for support of new or ongoing research/clinical investigation in psoriasis or psoriatic arthritis genetics. Any indirect costs to the sponsoring institution are not included. The eligibility requirements include progress reports during and at the end of the grant period.

The deadline for applications is November 10, 2000, and awardees will be notified by January 30, 2001.

All applications are subject to peer review by the NPF's Scientific Review Committee. The committee members do not participate in evaluation of applications from institutions with which they are associated or applications in which there is a real or apparent conflict of interest.
