Newswise — Babson MBA students have come up with eight new product concepts that simplify the daily tedium of most busy young professionals and suburbanites. Teams of 42 students dreamed up the designs during a single semester course at Babson College, the top-ranked business school for entrepreneurship education. Students from neighboring Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering provided prototyping support and engineering advice.

Babson's Design Fair will showcase the products on Tuesday, Dec. 6th from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. in the Needham-Wellesley rooms at Olin Hall.

Simultaneously on exhibit in Babson's Olin Hall, Room 204, is an exhibit by Boston artist, Hannah Burr entitled, "Room 204: Visual Traces of Groups at Work." Burr worked with five students from Babson's Product Design class to create an art installation of their patterns of motion, speech, interaction, and ambient sound in quantitative lists. Burr translates the dynamic energy of the group as it interacts, into an art work that changes the physical qualities of the meeting room itself. She re-expresses each observed behavior with her 'marks,' transforming the space into an evolving abstracted graph.

This year's new Product Design entries include:

-- A better way to party!—Chip N' Sip is an all in one drinking and snack plate for easier munching and mingling at the party scene.
