Newswise — Urban economics professor Robert Edelstein at UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business will be available for media interviews to discuss solutions to the California economy at this week's American Real Estate and Urban Economics Association (AREUEA) annual conference, July 11-14, at the University of California, Los Angeles. Edelstein is chair of this year's conference.

As a member of State Controller John Chiang's Council of Economic Advisors, Edelstein advises the Controller on major issues affecting the state's economy, offering solutions to make the best use of limited government revenues and resources and tackle the record budget deficit.

Edelstein chaired the group's "white paper" task force, developing and presenting recommendations to federal legislators.

Professor Edelstein is the Maurice Mann Chair in Real Estate and Co-Chair, Fisher Center for Real Estate and Urban Economics at the University of California, Berkeley's Haas School of Business.
