SUBJECT: SARS -- Special Late-breaking Session at the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America Annual Meeting.

Experts from Johns Hopkins and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and public health officials from Toronto and Singapore will discuss the latest developments on the recent outbreak of SARS (severe acute respiratory syndrome). This special session of the Society of Healthcare Epidemiology of America 13th Annual Scientific Meeting will be held Monday, April 7, 2003 at 5:30 p.m., at the Crystal Gateway Marriott Hotel in Arlington, Virginia.

Experts at the meeting will also discuss the latest findings and recommendations for bioterrorism preparedness, smallpox, infection control, preventing antibiotic resistance and insuring the health and safety of patients and health care workers alike.
