Michael Granof is the Ernst & Young Distinguished Centennial Professor in Accounting at the No. 1 accounting school in the nation, McCombs School of Business.

He is currently serving a five-year term on the Federal Accounting Standards Advisory Board. Granof examines U.S. debt and budget issues with the eye of a federal accounting expert, letting the numbers tell the story.

"If you listen to certain politicians and talking heads you might get the impression that the federal fiscal sky is falling. Unfortunately, unlike Chicken Little, they may be right," he has said.

He carefully exposes the devilish accounting machinations used to obscure the true state of national indebtedness. The views expressed are his own, not necessarily those of the Board.
