Newswise — The Martin J. Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University’s MS in Accounting Program is #57 in the country, according to the TFE Times’s (formerly The Financial Engineer) first-ever ranking of graduate accounting programs. Whitman’s MS in Accounting program, located in the Joseph I. Lubin School of Accounting, was chosen from the nearly 170 universities that offer a Master of Accounting degree.

“We’re absolutely delighted that our MS in Accounting program has been ranked in the top third of all graduate accounting programs in the country,” said William Walsh, director of graduate accounting programs for the Lubin School of Accounting at Whitman. “This is the first time that TFE Times has ranked these programs, and we are very pleased. Our students not only explore accounting theories and methods through rigorous coursework, but they also practice their skills in real-world settings, using professional resources and software.”

The Lubin School at Whitman offers an M.S. in accounting that pairs a comprehensive curriculum with real world experience to produce confident and competent practicing accountants, consultants and managers. The program accommodates students with an undergraduate accounting degree as well as those with an undergraduate degree in another academic area who may need to take additional courses. Whitman offers a flexible, elective schedule so students can integrate different aspects of business into their degrees. Many of the leading firms, such as Deloitte, Ernst & Young, KPMG and PwC, consistently put Whitman’s M.S. in accounting graduates to work.

The TFE Times’ ranking methodology examined components, including mean GMAT scores, starting salaries and placement.
