Newswise — A Babson College team has won the New England Investment Research Challenge sponsored by the Boston Security Analysts Society (BSAS).

This is the second consecutive year that the Babson College team of investment analysts took the top honors in the BSAS competition.

The competition involved the team conducting an equity analysis of Cabot Corporation (CBT), submitting a written report, and making a presentation before the judges and invited guests from the New England investment analyst community. This year Babson was up against teams from MIT, Boston College, Boston University, University of Maine, UMass-Boston, and Bryant University.

Babson's team was composed of Jason Dieffenbacher, Vinay Kaza, Maan Bsat, Karen Panyalertrat, and Roman Gramc. Team members are MBA students and Babson College Fund managers.

Babson Executive-in-Residence Warren Johnson, CFA, and Nicole Jackman of Wellington Management served as coaches.

The Babson team gave CBT a "Hold" rating. Their winning report is now posted on the Babson College Fund website (http://invest.babson.edu).

"We congratulate the team and share in the honor and pride their victory brings to Babson and our investments education programs," said Steven Feinstein, Ph.D., CFA, Associate Professor of Finance, Donald P. Babson Endowed Chair in Applied Investments, and Director of the Babson College Fund.
