PEDIATRIC HEMATOLOGY/ONCOLOGY NURSES DAY

Nurses Wrap for their 2nd Annual Special Day

Newswise — To kick off national pediatric cancer month and celebrate Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurses Day, nurses from APHON, the Association of Pediatric Hematology Oncology Nurses, tied and wrapped trees in the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles Healing Garden. The bows and wrap signify the connection between the nurses who care for the day-to-day needs of children with cancer and blood disorders and families, guiding them through the most difficult circumstances anyone can experience.

The nurses wrapping the trees are part of nearly 900 APHON nurses who are gathering LA to kick off their 35th annual conference to learn about the latest in pediatric hematology/oncology nursing practice, build new skills, and connect with other nurses in the field.

APHON is comprised of more than 3500 pediatric hematology/oncology nurses who share a vision for a future without cancer and blood diseases. Together APHON nurses are committed to defining best practices for optimal patient care, passionate about providing the highest standards of care, and dedicated to advancing the field of pediatric hematology/oncology nursing.
