Newswise — The Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital (TJUH) and Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University recently welcomed three new physicians to its ranks:

Joseph M. Curry, M.D.Assistant ProfessorDr. Curry received his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington D.C. in 2004. He graduated summa cum laude with bachelor of science degree from Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia in 2000. His medical training began at TJUH with a residency in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery (2004-09). He completed his training with a Fellowship in Head and Neck Oncology and Microvascular Reconstruction at the University of Miami in Miami, Florida (2009-10), before joining Jefferson as an assistant professor. Dr. Curry specializes in cancers and reconstruction of the head and neck, salivary gland, thyroid and parathyroid surgery. Dr. Curry is board certified in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. He is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, American Medical Association, American Head and Neck Society and the Pennsylvania Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. He is also a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society.

Madeleine R. Schaberg, M.D., M.P.H.Assistant Professor Dr. Schaberg received her combined medical degree and master degree in Public Health from Tulane University in 2004. She earned a bachelor of arts degree in Government from Cornell University in 1997. She served an internship in General Surgery (2005-05) and residency in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery (2005-08) at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, NY; where she also served as Chief Resident (2008-09). Dr. Schaberg completed her training with a Fellowship in Rhinology and Skullbase Surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College of Cornell University (2009-10) before joining Jefferson as an assistant professor. Dr. Schaberg is board-eligible in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. She is a member of several professional organizations including the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, American Medical Association and the American Rhinological Society.

Kyle W. Fisher, M.D.Instructor Dr. Fisher received his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University in 2005. He earned a bachelor of science degree in Molecular Biology from the University of Pittsburgh in 1999. His medical training began as an intern in Otolaryngology (June 2005) at TJUH, where he also served as a resident in Otolaryngology (July 2006 to June 2010). Dr. Fisher is board-eligible by the American Board of Otolaryngology. He is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, American Head and Neck Society, American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy and the Pennsylvania Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Fisher is also a member of the national medical honor society, Alpha Omega Alpha.
