Newswise — Chicago, IL (March 1, 2016): Registration is open for the latest Emerging Issues in Oncology Webinar series featuring Updates from the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium (SABCS) on March 10 from 12:00 – 1:00 pm CST. The second in the series of Board Certified Oncology Pharmacy recertification opportunities presented by the Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Association (HOPA) will explore recent and significant updates of interest to the pharmacist on the management of breast cancer patients. Detailed interpretation of important results presented at the Symposium this past December will be made with reference to previously published studies.

Dr. Meghana Trivedi, PharmD, PhD, BCOP, assistant professor at the University of Houston, College of Pharmacy will lead discussion covering hormone receptor-positive, HER2-positive, and triple-negative breast cancers separately to put the recent results in perspective with the current standard of care.

The Updates in Oncology Webinars series is part of the brand new educational programming HOPA has made available to help pharmacists fulfill their BCOP recertification needs. The five webinars presented throughout the year will review key findings from clinical and translational research, and data presented at national oncology meetings.

New this year, HOPA provides 38 credits of education per year including: Conference programming at the Annual Conference and just prior to the Oncology Pharmacy Practice Management Meeting September 22, a new 2-day live Updates Course July 15 – 16, 2016, and a downloadable self-study module available this summer.
