Newswise — MORGANTOWN, W.Va./DANVILLE, Pa. – West Virginia United Health System (WVUHS) and Geisinger Health Plan (GHP) have announced the organizations are partnering for the administration of health benefits for Morgantown-based WVU Healthcare employees and their dependents for 2012.

“We have committed significant resources and effort over the past few years toward enhancing the health and wellness of our employees and their dependents,” said WVUHS President and CEO Tom Jones. “We are partnering with GHP to capitalize on the health plan’s proven success and experience with improving employees’ health.”

GHP is the insurance component of Geisinger Health System, a Pennsylvania-based integrated health services organization. GHP will establish an office in Morgantown and have staff on-site to administer the program. According to the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) Health Insurance Rankings 2010-11, GHP is the top-ranked private health plan in Pennsylvania and number five in the United States.
