WHAT:

The Union of Concerned Scientists will release its biennial comprehensive analysis of the biggest automakers' environmental performance. The science group's ranking of auto fleets is a national barometer of car manufacturers' gains and setbacks on the environment.

The automakers have been talking more about the environment in recent years, but have they actually improved the products they sell? During a telephone press conference, a UCS vehicle engineer will separate the hype from the hardware by evaluating the automakers based on actual vehicle sales. A green marketing expert will join the call to discuss car companies' environmental strategies and how automakers can move towards selling cleaner cars.

12:30 p.m. EST / 11:30 a.m. CST / 10:30 a.m. MST / 9:30 a.m. PST Tuesday, April 3, 2007
