AMGA Announces Deena Gilland Appointment to Public Policy Committee Newswise — Alexandria, VA - AMGA is pleased to announce the appointment of Deena Gilland, MSN, RN, OCN, NEA-BC, as its newest member of the AMGA Public Policy Committee (PPC). The PPC sets the advocacy and policy agenda for AMGA and works closely with AMGA’s Public Policy Department to develop policy and to advocate for multispecialty medical groups and integrated delivery systems.

“Deena’s strong background in nursing leadership will greatly benefit the PPC and the Public Policy Department,” said Chet Speed, AMGA’s Vice President, Public Policy. “In this time of significant federal policy changes, and as we advocate for AMGA members during their transition to value, I could not be more thrilled with Ms. Gilland’s appointment.”

Ms. Gilland serves as the Vice President of Patient Services and Chief Nursing Officer of Emory Healthcare's Ambulatory Patient Services in Atlanta, Georgia. She also serves as adjunct faculty at Emory’s Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing. Previously, she served as the Director of Oncology Services for the National Cancer Institute designated Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University.

She also serves on the AMGA Chief Nursing Officer Council, the Emory Alumni Board, the Emory Nursing Alumni Board, and the Association of Cancer Executives. She is an active member of the Association of Nurse Executives, serving on the continuum of care task force, and the American Academy of Ambulatory Care Nursing as a member of the Leadership Special Interest Group.

Ms. Gilland received her BSN from Georgia College and State University, her MSN in healthcare leadership from the Emory School of Nursing, and completed the Managing Healthcare Delivery program at the Harvard Business School.
