Newswise — October 22, 2018 – Wolters Kluwer, Health announced today the launch of an online solution that allows its medical society partners to expand beyond traditional clinical content by providing members with streamlined access to comprehensive digital libraries encompassing journals, books, videos and other multimedia resources curated by specialty. The Orthopaedic Trauma Association (OTA) became the first to offer the online resource center with the unveiling of OTA Online Trauma Access, which provides members with access to a wealth of orthopaedic trauma information and education.

Today’s practitioners rely on societies to provide them with trusted and vetted content to better-inform care decisions and practice evidence-based medicine. OTA Online Trauma Access lets us do that by equipping our members with a single, readily accessible source of peer-reviewed knowledge that covers the breadth and depth of orthopaedic injury practice,” said OTA President David C. Teague, MD. “OTA Online Trauma Access helps us meet our organizational vision to be the authoritative source for the optimum treatment and prevention of musculoskeletal injury.”

The online solution offers members searchable content from books and journals published by Wolters Kluwer’s Lippincott portfolio along with clinical video and other multimedia content, and direct access to continuously updated chapters from leading textbooks. Content is presented in a semantically searchable environment, which delivers more relevant results by “understanding” the intent and contextual meaning of search terms used.

For OTA members, OTA Online Trauma Access features a vast library of procedure and technique videos, drawn from the OTA Technique Library and the prestigious Rockwood and Green collection, as well as hundreds of video presentations from OTA annual meetings and conferences. Also included is access to current and past issues of Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma and OTA International, full access to the upcoming ninth edition of Rockwood, Green, and Wilkins' Fractures in Adults and Children (Spring 2019), and industry partner channels featuring educational and product information.

“Medical societies are looking for innovative and meaningful ways to add value for members. By offering a destination site where members can quickly and easily access a breadth of rich content tailored to their specialty, societies stand out with a compelling resource to attract members and strengthen loyalty,” said Jayne Marks, Vice President, Global Publishing, Health Learning, Research and Practice, Wolters Kluwer. “We’re delighted to work with our charter partner, the Orthopaedic Trauma Association, to launch this powerful new solution of curated evidence-based content for their members.”
