Newswise — Burnham Institute for Medical Research (Burnham) announced the election of five new members to its board of trustees. These new trustees bring a wide variety of business, legal and philanthropic experience to Burnham.

New Board of Trustees Members
Shehan Dissanayake is a managing director and a member of Tavistock Group's board of directors. Shehan oversees the organization's life sciences portfolio which includes Ambrx, Eidogen-Sertanty and Kalypsys and is involved in strategic and business planning at Group level. Previously, he was a managing partner of strategy and business planning for Arthur Andersen's $3 billion global tax and legal business advisory operating unit.
M. Wainwright Fishburn, Jr., is a partner in the Cooley Godward Kronish, LLP business department. He joined the Firm in 1992 as a founding partner in the San Diego office. His practice focuses on corporate governance, as well as mergers, acquisitions, strategic alliances and intellectual property licensing and management. Fishburn has been counsel to public and private companies operating in a variety of environments, including biotechnology, information technology, internet, computer hardware and software, communications, composite materials, retail, service and manufacturing. He has also represented U.S., European and Japanese companies in a variety of international transactions.
Jeanne Herberger chairs the Conde Nast award winning Hidden Meadow Guest Ranch in Greer, Arizona. Herberger also founded Arizona Women's Education & Employment, Inc. She is the past president of the Arizona Women's Forum and is on the board of directors of the International Women's Forum. Herberger also founded Valley Leadership and is the first and only woman to serve as president of the Phoenix Symphony board of directors.
James E. Jardon II is president and chief executive officer of JHT, Inc., headquartered in the Central Florida Research Park, Orlando, Florida. JHT, Inc. is a privately held company with more than 500 employees nationwide. Mr. Jardon oversees company operations including interactive media and computer-based training, professional staffing services and construction.
Allen R. "Al" Weiss serves as president of worldwide operations for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. He is responsible for operations at the company's theme parks and resorts spanning three continents and including the Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort, Hong Kong Disneyland and Disneyland Resort Paris. He also oversees Disney Cruise Line and Disney Vacation Club. He began his 34-year Disney career in 1972 as an hourly Cast Member and was named president of the Walt Disney World Resort in 1994 and the top operations leader for Disney's worldwide vacation destinations in 2005.
