Indoor air research finds people may not be able to "breathe easy" at home-- It may not be the common cold that's the culprit behind your itchy eyes and dry throat but some of the common chemicals found in your home, according to a UMR researcher developing new techniques to understand indoor air pollution and "Sick Building Syndrome."

A clean, green pollution solution-- Here's an idea that will grow on you: using trees and other plants to reduce water and ground pollution -- and reducing overall cleanup costs. That's the goal of a UMR environmental engineer who is leading a team of graduate and undergraduate students in this nontraditional research effort.

"Industrial ecology" can help cut waste-- Many of the 2 million cell phones, computers and other electronic products Americans discard each year could have a second life if they were designed for disassembly and reuse, says a UMR researcher who specializes in industrial ecology.

UMR researchers launch website to study amphibian malformations-- A biologist and a computer scientist at UMR have joined forces to create an online tool to better understand why amphibian populations are on the decline. The website, called MorphologyNet, houses 3-D images of frogs that can be dissected by any computer user with any web browser.
