More than 2,000 attendees are expected to visit Pittsburgh from June 8-14, 2016, during the American Dental Hygienists' Association's Center for Lifelong Learning at the 93rd Annual Session - the nation's preeminent meeting for dental hygiene education, networking and professional development.
The National Maternal and Child Oral Health Resource Center (OHRC) at Georgetown University has been awarded $747,689 by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) to identify opportunities for engaging oral health professionals (dentists, dental hygienists, and dental assistants) in reducing childhood obesity by using evidence-based recommendations and strategies. The project aligns with two RWJF goals: (1) to eliminate young children’s consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages and (2) to ensure that children enter kindergarten at a healthy weight.
In celebration of National Dental Hygiene Month, the ADHA and the Wrigley Oral Health Care Program have provided dental hygienists and the public with a variety of resources about the benefits of having a daily oral health routine.
