Teens Learn to Triage Patients During a Disaster and Educate Their Peers About Important Health Issues
University of North Carolina WilmingtonMass casualty triaging, a rare experience for the most seasoned nurses, will be conducted by students of the University of North Carolina Wilmington School of Nursing Camp BONES (Brigade of Nurse Exploring Seahawks) Academy. The drill will take place from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. Saturday, March 14. Camp BONES is a four-year education program that aims to address the national nursing shortage by preparing underrepresented and underserved high school students for careers in nursing and health fields before college.
