Newswise — On Wednesday, March 23, 2016, men in Ocean county, NJ, can take advantage of free health screenings, physician lectures, and a host of interactive educational displays featuring information about Southern Ocean Medical Center’s services for men. The activities are part of Southern Ocean’s Annual Men’s Health Night from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m., held on the first floor of the medical center.

Guests will learn how to keep their health in check during several physician lectures: • 6:45 p.m. – 7:05 p.m. – Keeping Your Joints in Motion with Stanley Michael, M.D., and a chair exercise demonstration• 7:20 p.m. – 7:40 p.m. – Ins and Outs of Your Colon with Robert Khoo, M.D. • 7:50 p.m. – 8:10 p.m. – Eat your Way to a Healthy Heart with Theodore Ende, D.O., and cooking demonstration by Stephaine Yedinak, R.D.

Several free health screenings will be offered throughout the evening. They include:• Blood Pressure • Blood Sugar • Diabetes• Colon Rectal • Foot • Pulmonary Function • Cholesterol • Balance • Grip Strength • Hearing • Stroke Risk Assessment • Lab Results

Additionally, a free lipid screening will take place on Monday, March 21, 2016 from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. in the Beach Plum Conference Room at Southern Ocean Medical Center. A 15 hour fast is required to have blood drawn. (Participants should continue to take medications and drink water as needed). Results will be available during Men’s Health Night.
