Steven R. Feldman, M.D., professor of dermatology at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, and colleagues published a study online in the September issue of The Dermatologist that compared word clouds of the 50 most frequently used words in the 906 pages of the Affordable Care Act to understand how the new healthcare law relates to patients’ concerns for quality. Overview statement by Feldman: “The main finding was that there is very little overlap between the words patients use to describe medical quality and the words in the Affordable Care Act. This raises concerns about how well the Act will meet patients' needs and even greater concern for how the public will perceive the PPACA.”
